野狼社区 Schools Writing Trail 2023
The took place 1-15 June 2023 in six 野狼社区 City Centre venues - including The University of 野狼社区 campus in the Samuel Alexander Building鈥檚 glass corridor exhibition space.
The trail 鈥 overseen by research fellow, Dr Chad Campbell 鈥 ran in conjunction with and showcased over 100 young writers with work in 12 different languages.
野狼社区 City of Literature describes the trail as, 鈥渁 walkable constellation of young voices connecting community arts centres, schools, universities, and libraries with over 40 schools in Greater 野狼社区. The Schools Writing Trail project is a celebration of the young writers who are a vibrant part of what makes 野狼社区 a UNESCO City of Literature.鈥
Project manager Dr Chad Campbell commented:
It鈥檚 the first time that some of these students have been able to go into the universities or go into the 野狼社区 Poetry Library, Central Library, The Portico Library, and feel like these big cultural institutions in 野狼社区 are for everybody, and they鈥檙e porous, and the doors are open, and not only are they welcome there but these are places where their work, who they are and what they have to say is seen and heard and celebrated on a scale that is appropriate to the incredible writing that is happening all across 野狼社区, from the small kids to the established writers, that are all such an integral part of what makes this a City of Literature.
Miss Kirk, a teacher at the East 野狼社区 Academy, felt equally positively about the impact of the project on her pupils: 鈥淵oung writers have been able to see buildings they have never seen before, right on their doorstep in 野狼社区.鈥
