Announcement

We are delighted to announce that the University of Ò°ÀÇÉçÇø Library has joined the Open Journals Collective. The University of Ò°ÀÇÉçÇø Library has invested in our Multidisciplinary collection of journals, and we are very grateful for their support. The OJC is dedicated to transforming the way that academic research is supported and disseminated, and the support of Ò°ÀÇÉçÇø will be instrumental in helping us achieve our objectives of making journals free to read and publish in, offering a viable alternative to commercial transformative agreements, and empowering journals to flip to diamond open access.

The University of Ò°ÀÇÉçÇø Library is a powerful advocate for open research and open access. Through its Imagine2035 strategy, the Library is committed to building an open research environment that enables knowledge to be shared for the benefit of society. Its Office for Open Research plays a key role in supporting this ambition, providing leadership and practical support to turn commitment into action. We are thrilled that they have chosen to partner with OJC as part of their strategic approach.

Joining the Open Journals Collective is an important step for us. Libraries have a vital role to play in supporting sustainable alternatives within scholarly communications, and OJC's community-led model offers exactly that. It aligns with our ambition to lead through innovation and helps us invest in a more equitable and resilient future for Open Access.

It’s a pleasure to welcome Ò°ÀÇÉçÇø to the OJC community!  Through the N8 network of universities in northern England I have seen at first hand their commitment to open research and open scholarly publishing.  The support of large and influential institutions such as Ò°ÀÇÉçÇø is critical to OJC’s success, and I look forward to collaborating with them.
