Our single-site campus is at the heart of the city of Ò°ÀÇÉçÇø. Ò°ÀÇÉçÇø is UK’s most popular student city – a buzzing and modern metropolis and an incredibly vibrant, cosmopolitan, friendly place to live and study. Ò°ÀÇÉçÇø has one of the most diverse populations in the UK with more than 200 languages spoken.
It is budget-friendly for international students as rent tends to be more reasonable than in many other locations. The many amenities are within walking distance of the campus with most of the shops, theatres, cafes and restaurants a short walk away.

Entry requirements
General requirements
The University of Ò°ÀÇÉçÇø welcomes a large volume of applications from Pakistani students each year.
General minimum entry requirements for Pakistani applicants are summarised below. Please carefully check the specific requirements for your chosen programme via our website prior to application.
A-levels or International Baccalaureate
If you are studying A-levels or the International Baccalaureate (IB) then you can apply for direct entry to the first year of an undergraduate/bachelor’s degree.
Typical grade requirements:
- A-levels: A*A*A* – ABB
- IB: 34-41 points, with 7, 7, 7 – 6, 5, 5 in Higher Level (HL) subjects
Subject specific requirements may apply.
Due to differences in the Pakistan and UK education systems, applicants who have taken the Intermediate Certificate, HSC or Hasaanvia Khasa (12 years of schooling) will need to successfully complete a University-recognised foundation programme before joining an undergraduate course.
Undergraduate courses with an integrated foundation year (science, engineering and biosciences only)
Students with grade A (70-79%), with a minimum grade A (70-79%) in Mathematics and Physics, can apply for the .
Applicants with Intermediate Certificate, HSC or Hasaanvia Khasa are considered for the University’s Biosciences with a foundation year programme on a case-by-case basis.
INTO Ò°ÀÇÉçÇø in partnership with The University of Ò°ÀÇÉçÇø
Students with an overall grade of 65% or higher would be considered for the foundation programmes run in partnership with the University by INTO Manchester. Pathways for Engineering and Science, Humanities and Social Sciences (including Management and Law), Biosciences, Pharmacy and Psychology are available. Subject-specific requirements may apply.

PG masters courses (MSc, MA, MRes)
Students who have completed a minimum of a four-year bachelor’s degree from a reputable HEC-recognised university are considered for postgraduate study. The minimum requirement typically ranges from 70-85% overall, depending on the university of prior study and grading scale. Some schools and departments may ask for higher than the minimum scores.
Students holding a two-year bachelor's degree plus a two-year master's degree or a three-year bachelor's degree plus a one-year master's degree should contact the International Office for further advice.

MBA
The Ò°ÀÇÉçÇø MBA requires a minimum of three years’ professional work experience.

The University of Ò°ÀÇÉçÇø offers a range of one year master’s programmes that offer an attractive alternative to academically well-qualified students without suitable work experience.
PhD
Students who have completed a minimum of a four-year bachelor’s degree plus a two-year master’s degree, both from reputable HEC-recognised universities and with a minimum overall score of 70-85%, are considered for PhDs.
PhDs/Postgraduate research degrees are individually supervised. We strongly recommend that prospective applicants make initial enquiries with the potential supervisor or academic school before submitting a formal application. A research proposal is required along with your formal application.
English language requirements
All international students coming to study in the UK on a Student Route visa are required to demonstrate their proficiency in English language. The minimum English language requirements for each programme are specified on the course description.
We accept a range of global English tests (e.g. IELTS, TOEFL iBT). Confirmation that English was the mode of instruction at your university is not accepted as evidence that you meet the requirements.

Study abroad
If you are currently enrolled as a degree-seeking student at any accredited University or college of higher education outside of the UK, you can apply to spend a semester or full year here at The University of Ò°ÀÇÉçÇø.
We offer Year/Semester Abroad programmes as well as participating in a number of exchange partnerships with key European and worldwide universities. Most students joining us for study abroad do so in their third year (of a four year degree) although we do also accept applications from second and final year students.
Minimum entry requirements for study abroad students are an average of 60% or above on a four year degree programme.

Global Futures Scholarships 2027
The University of Ò°ÀÇÉçÇø is proud to offer more than 350 awards to international students starting their studies in September 2027. The total value of scholarships offered will be more than £6 million, and awards are open to students applying for undergraduate and master’s degrees.
Undergraduate awards
We're proud to offer a number of merit-based undergraduate scholarships of up to £36,000 (£12,000 per year over three years) to international students from a selection of countries across the globe.
The Global Futures Scholarships for South Asia are open to applicants domiciled in the following countries: Bangladesh, India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka.
Please note: the application form will only be available once you've applied for an eligible course and received an offer.
Each award comprises £12,000 for the first year of study with a further £12,000 in the second and third years.
Continuation of the award is conditional on attainment of 60% in exams and assessments each year. Scholarships will be awarded as a discount on published international tuition fees.
You must be taking one of the following qualifications: A-level, IB or Indian Standard XII (CBSE, CISCE, Maharashtra, West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Gujarat).
Scholarships will be awarded based on academic excellence, predicted and achieved grades, and your online application form, which will be emailed to all eligible offer-holders.
Awardees will primarily be selected based on academic merit, but the University may also consider the overall composition of the scholarship cohort, including representation across academic programmes, domicile, gender and qualification background.
- Applications will be considered from international fee-paying students domiciled in: Bangladesh, India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka.
- To be considered as 'domiciled', you must have predominantly lived there during the last three years.
- We consider your permanent country of residence to be the country in which you're ordinarily resident, not a country where you are only living for full-time education.
- You must be applying for direct first-year entry in 2027 and have, or be working towards, one of the following qualifications: Indian Standard XII (CBSE, CISCE, Maharashtra, West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Gujarat), A-levels, IB Diploma.
- Scholarship applications will be assessed on any previous exams, predicted grades in the above-listed qualifications and the strength of the personal statement.
- You must be self-funded (not sponsored).
- You must have selected The University of Ò°ÀÇÉçÇø as your 'Firm' UCAS choice by 15 May 2027.
- The award only applies to full-time courses delivered at The University of Ò°ÀÇÉçÇø’s UK campus.
Not eligible
- Medicine (MBChB), Dentistry (BDS), Architecture, or any courses with an integrated foundation year.
- Those who've previously studied in the UK.
- Blended and distance learning programmes.
The application form will be emailed automatically to all eligible applicants shortly after an academic offer is made. Forms will be emailed from December 2026 to the closing date.
Awards offers will be made by 1 May 2027, and will be conditional on academic performance as outlined in the full terms and conditions below.

We're proud to offer more than 250 merit-based scholarships to prospective international students from a range of countries across the globe.

- The award only applies to full-time courses delivered at The University of Ò°ÀÇÉçÇø’s UK campus.
Not eligible
- MBA, MPhil, Master of Architecture (MArch), Architecture and Urbanism (MA), Architecture and Digital Design (MA), Master of Landscape Architecture (MLA), Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE), Clinical Medicine and Dentistry degrees.
- Some ‘Master’s by Research’ courses are also ineligible (see terms and conditions below).
- Those who've studied a Bachelor’s degree outside of South Asia.
- Blended and distance learning programmes.

GREAT Scholarship for Pakistan
The University of Ò°ÀÇÉçÇø is proud to offer one GREAT award in partnership with the British Council and the GREAT Britain campaign for a Pakistani student applying for a one-year taught Master’s course starting in September 2026.
The value of the award will be £15,000 and will be awarded as a discount on published overseas tuition fees.

The University of Ò°ÀÇÉçÇø is offering five fully funded British Council Women in STEM scholarships to students from South Asia for specific Master's programmes.
